![]() ![]() ![]() Especially 3, I really liked the labyrinthine design of the tower and how areas you visited during different missions were interconnected. I've yet to play Elden Ring, but I've heard that it's better than other open-world games in that regard.īut personally I would have been okay with them just making the level design in 5 more similar to the previous games. Open-world could be interesting if they actually pull it off by making the world fun to explore without the checklist nature of many open-world games. Honestly though considering the previous game came out like a decade earlier (excluding the reboot), I think just a simple return to form was nice to see. They did kinda try doing a new type of character with V, but a lot of people thought he was the least fun character to play as. Definitely an easy recommend if you're looking for some great action and want to feel like a teenager again. One could argue it benefits from the lack of filler the previous game puzzles provided and is straight to the point, but in my opinion it provided variety and helped pace the game between battles accordingly.Ĭapcom really went out of their way to give us a title that anyone could enjoy whether they are long time fans of the series or not. My only major gripe is how linear the game is. It's so fun that I might replay the game on a higher difficulty soon. Each character has their own unique combat style and there's plenty of variety for kicking ass and obtaining high ranks in combat. Gameplay is probably the finest in the series. Graphically, this game is downright gorgeous. After not being impressed with the reboot, the announcement of 5 proved to be quite surprising, and after recently replaying 3 and 4, I decided now was a good time to give the official 5th entry a go. The DMC series was one of my favourites growing up and still is to this day.
